CHAGRIN FALLS About 1,200 spectators cheered as Bainbridge resident Ted Batchelor set himself on fire at 10 p.m. Saturday as he stood on boards in the Chagrin River in Chagrin Falls. He walked alight for one minute and 10 seconds, then dove over the falls to douse the flames.

The stunt raised $6,000 for the Valley Art Center.

The August edition of the Guinness Book of World Records will list Batchelor as establishing the world record in 2004 for walking around on fire.
